Securing a Car

There more to keeping your car safe from thieves than getting an alarm fitted, do you really want the hassle of claiming for theft off your car insurance for something that you could have prevented. By following some of these tips, you can help prevent yourself becoming the victim of a preventable crime.

1) Always lock your doors when you're driving. Some thieves have taken to stealing brief cases and coats off your back seat while you're sat at a busy junction.

2) Never leave valuable in view, this includes removing the face off your radio if possible and taking it with you. The first place a thief looks when they get in the car is the glove box.

3) Always carry a mobile phone with you to call for assistance.

4) Always make sure that people know where you're going, when you expect to arrive and when expect to be back home.

5) Never ever pick up hitch hikers. We're sure that many of them are upstanding citizens but it only takes one.

6) Where possible, park your car in well lit car parks. If you park away from the pack, thieves may target your car in particular, especially if you're parked in the darkest corner.
